When Pope Francis created 21 new cardinals on December 7, 2024, the name Timothy Radcliffe stood out. The former Master of the Order of Preachers (1992-2001), who Pope Francis had personally selected to be the spiritual guide for the delegates in the 2023 and 2024 sessions of the Synod in Rome, was the most noteworthy name among the new cardinals. This book project will examine Radcliffe's life over eight decades with a particular focus throughout on the development of his preaching and his insights on scripture by analysis of his homilies and other writings.
