How can we be effective witnesses for Jesus when we have slowly disappeared from our own lives?
In As Yourself, United Methodist pastor and theologian Dr. Geoffrey D. Lentz offers a scripturally grounded, deeply personal antidote to vocational burnout and self-erasure. This is not a superficial self-help book. It is a robust, dialogue-driven exploration of Christian anthropology that bridges ancient contemplative wisdom with the practical realities of modern life.
Written with the warmth of a pastor and the depth of a scholar, As Yourself will challenge you to stop treating your physical body, personal boundaries, and unique limits as obstacles to holiness. Through Dr. Lentz's personal narrative of surviving a devastating Category 5 hurricane that stripped away his home, church, and familiar landmarks of identity, you will discover that salvation is not God rescuing you from being a self, but God healing your self into the fullness of love.
