What if everything you thought you knew about Jesus was only half the story? We often picture Jesus as a gentle teacher offering comfort and peace. But history tells a different story. Jesus was a disruptor-one who turned over tables, shattered social norms, challenged the most powerful institutions of His day, and called ordinary people to an extraordinary and unsettling life.In
Jesus the Disruptor, author Terrence D. Griffith unpacks the radical, countercultural force that Jesus was-and still is. Drawing from Scripture and history, Griffith reveals how Jesus didn't come to affirm the status quo. He came to turn the world right side up.
Inside, you'll discover how Jesus disrupted . . .Comfort - Invading ordinary lives with extraordinary divine callings
Religious Tradition - Confronting the hypocrisy and legalism of established religion
Social Hierarchies - Elevating the marginalized and humbling the proud
Family and Kinship - Redefining what it means to belong
Gender Norms - Treating women with dignity in a world that didn't
Politics and Power - Declaring a kingdom no empire could contain
Death Itself - Rising in defiance of the graveThis disruption didn't end at the Resurrection. Through the Holy Spirit, Jesus continues to unsettle, challenge, and transform-calling each of us to let go of comfort, convenience, and control, and follow Him into the places that need His love the most.
Jesus the Disruptor is a bold invitation to stop taming Jesus and start being transformed by Him . . . because the question isn't whether He will disrupt your life-it's whether you're ready to let Him.
Are you willing to be disrupted?Terrence D. Griffith is the Senior Pastor of First African Baptist Church of Philadelphia, where he has led with vision and conviction for more than twenty-five years. He serves as the Executive Director of the Foreign Mission Board of NBC, USA, Inc.
