The climbing trend captures the hearts of today's adventurous spirits. From indoor rock walls to dangerous heights in the natural world, daring souls set their sights on the highest peaks.
No less rugged, daunting, or treacherous, the climb to spiritual heights pulls at the hearts of faithful pilgrims. To eyes of faith, the mountain scenes invoke visions of design, plan, future, purpose, and hope. They declare the challenge of commitment while they promise unspeakable glory-glory like that revealed to the three on Mount Tabor when their Master "...was transfigured before them, and his face shone like the sun, and his clothes became white as light" (Matthew 17:2 ESV).
Packaged in that wondrous event lie hints and clues foreshadowing great things to come. Though small, they point to enormous matters in the realm of the Spirit. Though the cloud appeared as small as a man's hand to Elijah's servant, it was a remarkable forecast of abundant rain. Couched in the Master's transfiguration, signs smaller than man's hand point to the sacred text: "What no eye has seen, nor ear heard, nor the heart of man imagined, what God has prepared for those who love him" (1 Corinthians 2:9 ESV).
This fifth volume of Prophecy Papers calls to those with ears to hear, eyes to see, and hearts willing to climb like Abraham to Mount Moriah, Moses to Mount Sinai, Elijah to Mount Carmel, and three humble fishermen to the Mount of Transfiguration Glory.
Previous volumes of "Prophecy Papers" by Donald Hawkins are: Daniel, Islam and Israel; Time's Puzzle Nearing Completion; Lessons for the Day of Great Trial; and Prediction for Pilgrims. These have evolved during a lifetime of study, experience, travel, and service in ministry, education, and missions. Additional volumes are currently in incubation stages, but may be released at a later time. Although retired from active ministry, Donald continues to study and write while living with his wife, Jeane, in Lakeland, Florida.
